Riptide motors feature advanced corrosion protection. Premium-grade alloys are impervious to rust. Metals undergo a rigid multi-step cleaning process before being anodized or coated with special zinc dichromate armor plating. All components are then finished with a 5-mil TGIC polyester, power coat paint. Riptide transom-mount motors are available in 101-, 80-, 55-, 50- and 40-lb thrust levels, 36”, 42” and 52” shaft lengths.ADVANCED CORROSION PROTECTION- Riptide control boards (1) are fully encapsulated in marine-grade polyurethane (2) to protect the electronic circuitry. All electrical connections are sealed in liquid-tight heat shrink tubing to form an impregnable barrier against the destructive effects of saltwater.
INDESTRUCTIBLE COMPOSITE SHAFT - GUARANTEED FOR LIFE- Minn Kota’s indestructible composite shaft is imprevious to the corrosive effects of saltwater. Pound for pound stronger than stainless steel, will not break, kink or corrode, and does not contribute to galvanic corrosion. Guaranteed for life!
SACRIFICIAL ANODE- All Riptide trolling motors feature a sacrificial zinc anode to fight galvanic corrosion. The replaceable anode is conveniently mounted on the prop hub and provides for better protection and longer motor life.
